Our mission and vision are to ensure that every senior citizen in Thompson feels safe, recognized, and important. Reach out to us to learn more about our cause.
Our Goals
Create Awareness
We aim to inform and educate Council members and the community on the resources needed and the issues affecting seniors citizens. We also strive to contribute to the development of the community through participation in community development activities and assist with community-sponsored activities.
Host Programs and Activities
Our goal is to develop, implement, and evaluate new resources or services based on the findings of our needs assessment activities.
Board and Volunteer Development
Our Board takes advantage of every governance training opportunity in its reach. We thank Thompson Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation for providing a considerable amount of the training and Community Futures North Central Development and Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre for providing a venue.
The Board is also actively developing or updating a number of policies and practices to help move the organization forward in a sustainable fashion. Part of this work will include further training for Board members, and training for Volunteers and Staff.
What We Do
At Thompson Seniors Community Resource Council, our goal is to acknowledge the growing population of senior citizens in the city of Thompson and to strive to meet their needs. We host a variety of events and activities and offer many different products to keep seniors engaged and encourage people to contribute to our cause.
